Tumblr Bloggers Take Fashion Designers To Task

While fashionistas are gearing up for New York Fashion Week, Tumblr is sending in the troops as well. A team of approximately 20 bloggers are heading for New York City in February so that they can provide up to the minute coverage of New York Fashion Week for the popular website. Although images of slender models frequently appear on Tumblr, this is the first time that they have ever taken so much interest in a fashion event. Many techies may be slightly confused when they see that the website recently acquired by Google is focusing on fashion.

Plenty of other journalist and news websites will be out in full force in NYC from February 9th through 17th for NY Fashion Week. In addition to famous designers such as Chanel, Prada and Oscar de la Renta, a number of new designers will also be appearing. Tickets are still available for this global event, but there will likely be a number of scalpers on hand. In the next few weeks a number of other major cities will be hosting their own versions of Fashion Week, however, NY Fashion Week is still one of the most exclusive events. New fashion designers know that they will be able to become a household name once they have shown their collections at New York Fashion Week. Thanks to Tumblr, web surfers will be able to see the newest designs almost as soon as they are unveiled instead of waiting for a write up to appear online nearly a week later.
