Switzerland Looking to Get Into Fashion

Many countries around the world are looking to make their own mark in the world of fashion and, in Europe, one of the newer ones is Switzerland. While the Swiss city of Zurich may be primarily known for its dark and down tempo suits the many bankers are known to wear, this week Zurich is going to vying for some attention along with Paris and Milan in the world of style as it get set to host a city first called Fashion Days.

Swiss bloggers are pleased to see the emergence of this trend and say that a young generation of creative people in Swiss culture certainly deserve some of the global spot light for their efforts. There are set to be 40 designers from not just Switzerland, but other countries around the world, who will be putting on the show in one of the major economic capitals of the world. One of the big attractions will be a line for Charles Voegele, a Swiss high street clothes chain, that has been put together by actress Penelope Cruz and her sister Monica. The idea of the event, according to its spokesperson Anne Gorgerat Kall, was to have a run at the fashion weeks that take place in New York City, Paris and London each year.

The exception for the Swiss event is that it will not be exclusively for those in the fashion industry and will actually be an event to which the public is welcomed. Although Zurich is well known for supplying amazing fabrics, it is not as known for its design, but this is one thing that Fashion Days hopes to change.
