Islamabad Fashion Week May Help Propel Pakistan Into The Fashion World

Pakistan is better known for politician policies than it is for fashion. People in the fashion world may think that Islamabad Fashion Week will feature burqas but organizers assure attendees that they will see all of the latest Western styled clothing from up and coming Pakistani fashion designers. However, what the organizers of Islamabad Fashion Week cannot guarantee is the safety of their guests. In a perfect world militants and extremists would be able to put down their weapons long enough to let those who have no interest in their ideology go on with their lives as usual. Unfortunately, this fashion event represents something that fighting fractions in Pakistan abhor – Western culture.

Event organizers and federal officials are taking extra security precautions to help keep the negative elements away from the event. A few protesters are expected, and it is well within their right to voice their concerns about how this fashion even with influence the youth of Pakistan, but given the fact that each person's style of dress is a personal choice these protesters may want to focus on themselves.

Pakistani designer Nilofer Shahid will definitely be showcasing her latest work during Islamabad Fashion Week. Some of her clothing has been worn by the likes of Madonna. A few other well known designers in Pakistan will also be making an appearance, but organizers hope that a fresh crop of fashion geniuses will emerge as a results of their heightened level of exposure. Islamabad Fashion Week will run for four days, which is just enough time for this somewhat unstable country to make a notable impact on the fashion industry.
