Androgynous Look Featured At Milan Fashion Week

Over the years the fashion industry has played around with aesthetics that captured the vulnerabilities of men while celebrating physical strength in women. Somewhere along the lines these two elements began to be confused and mashed up into what is now known as the 'adrogynous look.' Milan Fashion Week showed the fashion world that the androgynous look is back in full effect with designers such as Dolce & Gabbana featuring female models dressed in pseduo men's wear. Some of the suits worn featured long shorts instead of pants, and a few jackets appears sans sleeves. If you look closely you can see small details such as handbags and jackets with fitted waists, however, every single model had on a minimal amount of makeup and noticeably short cropped haircuts. The models were in full character mode.

The tuxedo jackets, vests and hats worn by models wearing Dolce & Gabbana showcased the brand's skill when it comes to combining femininity and masculinity. Shoulder pads were used to fill out their lithe frames and bowling styled shoes with severe points made the models' feet look slightly bigger, but it was the fit of the clothing and the fabrics that were used that made these over the top looks down a notch. This season minimal color and elegant draping have been used by virtually every designer, but Dolce & Gabbana proved that the most beautiful woman in the world can still turn heads while wearing a pair of loose fitting trousers and a high collar shirt.
